Meet the Travelers

Thanks for stopping by!  We're Jeff and Heather and we're new-ish empty nesters who moved from Fredericksburg, TX to Henderson, NV for a fresh adventure. There are so many great National Parks within a few hours from Southern Nevada, combined with the abundant sunshine, easy airport access and low cost of living, that we decided to make it our new home in October 2013.

Mostly you'll be hearing from me, Heather, because even though I've given Jeff access to post on this blog, I'm 99.9% sure that all the posts here will be authored by me. By trade I'm a marketer, focusing on customer advocacy, community and loyalty. I spent 5+ wonderful years with Eloqua (a marketing automation software company acquired in 2013 by Oracle) and am now running Customer Advocacy at Lattice Engines. I'm an avid reader and never go anywhere without my Kindle, I'm also a knitter and a Sudoku addict. I've fallen off the yoga bandwagon but I hope to remedy that soon.

Jeff is a web designer by trade, but in his heart he mostly just loves the great outdoors. He's had a blast exploring Red Rock Canyon and Lake Mead National Recreation Area since we moved to Henderson, along with a bunch of other local hiking trails. Given an hour of downtime, Jeff will go for a hike, whereas I'll take a nap -- there's one of our fundamental differences. Jeff is the mastermind behind all the technical pieces of owning a travel trailer: towing, solar panels, electricity, etc.

We have two great kids who are really adults now and we're so dang proud of them. You might hear us mention them here from time to time. And now we're also dog parents of Indie, a fiesty White Swiss Shepherd/Husky mix (a "shepsky") so you'll definitely be hearing about him.

Any questions for us? Drop us a note: travelers@adventureswithaudrey.com

This photo is a few years old now but it's still one of my favorites of us. It was taken in July 2010 when we renewed our vows with Elvis in Vegas for our 20th anniversary.

Indie loves to hike! He carries his own backpack that contains his water and water bowl.
